Byeong-hun An Credits Coach David Leadbetter And The 'A Swing' For His Win At BMW PGA Championship

Byeong-hun (Ben) An credits his historic victory at the BMW PGA Championship to his swing coach David Leadbetter and his revolutionary new A Swing approach.

Leadbetter worked with An prior to the European Tour event at Wentworth fine tuning his swing as well as helping with putting and his short game.

"I worked with David on the Wednesday before the PGA Championships and he just gave me a few small tweaks to work on. I have 100% trust in David's opinion and the work we did on Wednesday played a huge part in me being able to win the tournament."

Byeong-hun An, Winner BMW PGA Championship 2015

“I hope Ben enjoys this victory. He deserves it for the way he applies himself in practice and his willingness to take on new ideas, like the A Swing. It was not only the fact that he won but the way with which he won! Now he knows it’s within his power to play world-class golf, up to this week he only thought he may have the possibility of doing it. As I said to Ben on Sunday morning, “There is nothing like having complete belief and trust in your game.” He has those qualities now for sure. The exciting thing is that this is just the start.” - David Leadbetter

Byeong-hun An shot a 7-under 65 to win the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday with a tournament record total of 21 under. The South Korean made five birdies and an eagle in a bogey-free round to finish six strokes clear of Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand (69) and Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain (67).

“I worked with David on the Wednesday before the PGA Championships and he just gave me a few small tweaks to work on. I have 100% trust in David's opinion and the work we did on Wednesday played a huge part in me being able to win the tournament.” With regards to his swing, An added, “David has helped me understand my own swing. His A Swing approach has really improved my ball striking and consistency. My game is getting better and better and winning the BMW PGA Championship just proves it. The A Swing technique is simple and the best part is, apart from at the very beginning, I don’t have to see him that often to maintain it. When I do see him, if my game is a little off, it is an easy process to get back on track. He has made me my own best teacher, which is important as I travel the work playing golf. - Byeong-hun An

Byeong-hun An is one of a number of golfers now adopting Leadbetter’s new A Swing approach. The A Swing is a simple and more efficient swing that delivers greater synchronization, resulting in more consist ball striking and less room for error. The beauty of the A Swing is that players can customize it to suit their own game and is a applicable to Tour players as it is amateurs. Other students of Leadbetter’s using the A Swing include Alex Levy and the LPGA #1 Lydia Ko.

Leadbetter first worked with Byeong-hun An in 2005 as a teenager when he moved from South Korea to attended the David Leadbetter Junior Academy at IMG in Bradenton, FL. In August 2009, at age 17, An became the youngest-ever winner of the U.S. Amateur. Under Leadbetter’s tutelage he made his PGA Tour debut in March 2010 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a week before playing in The Masters.

FURTHER TESTIMONIALS FOR THE A SWING

David is a credit to golf. He loves the game as much as anybody I have ever seen and the A Swing may be one of the greatest contributions. If there is a better teacher in golf than David, I would like to meet him.

Gary Player, 165 tournament wins, 9 Majors, 9 Senior Majors and the Career Grand Slam.

“It has been fun working with David. He has taught me so many new things about swing fundamentals and how the body and muscles work. I’m excited about what lies ahead, and so will you be, if you try David’s A Swing – it could really help your game.”

Lydia Ko, 5-time winner on the LPGA tour, Rookie of the year 2014

“The A Swing I have worked on with David is so easy to do and repeat, and when it goes off I have a clear picture of what to do to get back on track.”

Alexander Levy (France), Two-time European Tour Winner

“A simple and easy way to understand and practice the Golf Swing. I wish we had figured this out years ago. The "A Swing" could change the way the Swing is taught. Anyone can do this.”

Denis Watson, 11 Time tournament winner Including the World Series of Golf 1984 and the Senior PGA championship at Kiawah Island 2007

“I have been a passionate, competitive senior golfer for many years, winning tournaments all over the world. When David introduced me to the A Swing with a few tournaments to go to reach the 200 mark, it made all the difference. It is so understandable and answered all my questions. My consistency has improved immensely and it makes practicing more productive. The A Swing has given me a new lease on life and I know I can still improve and hopefully win many more tournaments.”

Arlene Mckitrick, senior lady golfer, winner of over 200 tournaments

"I know it sounds crazy to say, but with The A Swing I am honestly at times hitting the ball at least FIFTY yards longer and straighter. FIFTY yards, no exaggeration, my caddie is my witness. He knows my game, and he says, if he had not seen it with his own eyes, he would never have believed it! The secret that the A Swing has revealed is synchronization, which is the key to consistency repeatability, power and accuracy! The A Swing has answered so many questions for me and I now have an exact road map to playing great golf.

Greg Kraft, PGA Tour winner - about to embark on the PGA Champions Tour

“There is a wonderful simplicity and logic to the A Swing which produced instant results in my game, making range time meaningful and, gave my confidence a huge boost on the course in competition. One of the keys to playing better golf is ’trusting your swing’, entertaining no self doubt and with a firm conviction that it will work as required especially under pressure. The A Swing does what it says on the tin!  The scientifically proven biomechanical advantage of this swing speaks for itself, and I can say without doubt it has made the single greatest positive on my game in 40 years”
