"Bridging the Gap" Retreats by Walter Reed Foundation Helps 9/11 Vets & Families

Free retreat, Dec 9-12, 2015 for Post 9/11service members, veterans with a caregiver or primary support person. Offered by the Walter Reed Foundation in collaboration with Invisible Wound, Warriors At Ease and the Institute for Health and Security of Military Families.

Walter Reed Foundation “Bridging the Gap Retreats” is offering a free retreat for post 9/11 service members and veterans with caregiver or primary support person.

Warriors At Ease is excited to be collaborating with these nonprofits in offering this kind of retreat. These complementary services are a necessary adjunct to helping our warriors and their families deal with the trauma and stress of military service.

These healing retreats have become a strong support to VA/DoD services. This four day relaxation and reconnection retreat will take place December 9-12, 2015 at Meadowkirk Retreat Center in Middleburg, VA. Our goal is to continue the healing journey of service members/veterans and their families through a 4-day retreat focused on group support, education, stress-management skills and fun in a beautiful setting. Reconnect to self, peers, family, and community. Enjoy relaxation, equine therapy, bonfire, stargazing, tai chi, ear acupuncture and outdoor activities. Walter Reed Foundation funds “Bridging the Gap Retreats”, in collaboration with: Invisible Wound, Warriors at Ease, and the Institute for the Health and Security of Military Families at Kansas State University, Manhattan Kansas.  Those interested in participating are asked to submit an application to attend.
