Award Winning Director Nelcie Souffrant has Written A Screenplay Adaptation to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

Actress Nelcie Souffrant has written her first feature screenplay which is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

Nelcie Souffrant is an actress, director and writer born and raised on Long Island New York. Nelcie’s first short “Strings Attached” which she has written, directed and produced has gone to eight film festivals winning two awards and has been nominated for three awards."Strings Attached" has been accepted Cannes Court Metrage, La International Shorts Film Festival, AOF Film Festival, Lady Filmmakers of Beverly Hills, African American Women in Film Festival, Women in Film Festival, Urban World and Pan African American Film Festival. 

Nelcie won "Best Young Filmmaker" and "Best Inspirational Short" at the AOF Film Festival 2014 for "Strings Attached" and nominated at the 2014 Pan African Film Festival for "Best Narrative Short". Nelcie has been nominated for the Achievement in Acting Award at the 2013 SoCal Film Festival for her portrayal of a teenage girl that is forced into sex trafficking by her adoptive father. She has just finished writing her first feature screenplay Summer of 89’ Romeo & Juliet: A Love Story which is a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. She will be looking for possible investors and producers for this production. Nelcie is also a finalist at the prestigious “The Actor’s Studio”.
