American Fine Art, March 26, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Andy Warhol: American Visionary exhibition at American Fine Art will offer collectors, enthusiasts and first time art buyers a rare opportunity to choose from unique works on paper, screenprints, rare proofs, and drawings from the 1950s to the last works Warhol created before his death in 1987.
SCOTTSDALE (March 6, 2015) - Andy Warhol: American Visionary opens at American Fine Art on March 25, 2015. “He was the most American of artists, and the most artistic of Americans.” (PBS Andy Warhol: A Documentary Film). One of the most revolutionary artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol was the leading figure of the Pop Art movement most well known for his Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyn portraits. The exhibition brings collectors the full breadth of Warhol artworks including early lithographs using Warhol’s blotted line technique that were then hand painted with watercolor. There are more than 50 works available in the exhibit including unique works on paper, one of a kind and limited edition screenprints, rare proofs, drawings, and lithographs. One featured work is a rare two-sided working proof which was created just before the artist’s death in 1987 bearing Warhol’s Beethoven, Joseph Beuys, and Moonwalk. Additionally, the gallery will offer works from Warhol’s Endangered Species portfolio, the Electric Chair series, and the Cowboys and Indians portfolio.
