20 Year Old Wins Platinum Remi Award for Screenplay
Lamentations is a musical screenplay written by Sandy Kimball, a 20 year old Valley Center Ca. resident writing under the screen name Killion Sile. Lamentations earned a Platinum Remi award in April in the unproduced screenplay category for Religion & Christian themed screenplays.
Valley Center, Ca., May 1, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Sandy Kimball a 20 year old Valley Center resident writing under the name Killion Sile, won a platinum Remi Award at the 48th Annual Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival Saturday on April 19th for her unproduced screenplay “Lamentations”.
Set in an Urbex world of beautifully decaying architecture, the English-Korean, Christian themed musical, makes use of modern day choral masterpieces to tell its story.
Kimball began working on the screenplay Lamentations immediately after graduating high school in 2013 and finished in time to enter it in the 48th Annual Worldfest-Houston last fall, in the Religion-Christian category.
Sandy Kimball completed her first book, a full length western novel titled 25 Dead while still a senior in high school. She has since self published a series of E-books titled The Order Ideology: The Sociopathic Murders of Every Fairy, Unicorn and Rainbow.
Worldfest-Houston was the third film festival to have started in North America and remains one of the most prestigious festivals in the world today. It is the festival that discovered Spielberg, George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola, Ang Lee, Spike Lee, The Coen Brothers and many more.
Sandra Kimball has begun reaching out to producers and executives with the hope of eventually seeing the screenplay turned into a motion picture for the Big Screen.
