Risberg Schilling Productions' Film 'A Reason' Released on VOD and DVD

Risberg Schilling Productions’ feature film, A REASON, was digitally released last week on VOD and DVD after hitting theaters over the summer and screening at film festivals such as the Tenerife International Film Festival, the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, the Orlando Film Festival and the LA Femme Film Festival to name a few.

A REASON follows Serena, a distraught young misfit, and Nathan, her controlling older brother. Both are forced to endure a dreaded family gathering at the house of their elegant elderly Aunt Irene – the reading of her will. The activity sets off an unexpected course of events that ultimately forces them to reevaluate their views on love, forgiveness and family.

"A REASON shines a light on all of those unhealthy and destructive patterns that affect a lot of families today," Schilling said. "We're extremely proud of this film because of its powerful message. A message that a broader scope of people might be able to discover now that the film is on VOD and DVD. The message being that today's troubled youth can learn from the elderly and the elderly can help them find their voice."

Dominique Schilling, Writer/Director

Dominique Schilling wrote and directed A REASON while producer Caroline Risberg produced the project under their banner, Risberg Schilling Productions.

“A REASON shines a light on all of those unhealthy and destructive patterns that affect a lot of families today,” Schilling said. “We’re extremely proud of this film because of its powerful message. A message that a broader scope of people might be able to discover now that the film is on VOD and DVD. The message being that today’s troubled youth can learn from the elderly and the elderly can help them find their voice.”

AfterEllen.com says “The film perfectly captures the complexities of disconnected families, a dynamic that is often times hard to capture as genuine” and the Digital Journal labels it “The indie sleeper film of the year.”

The film stars Magda Apanowicz (Open Road’s “The Green Inferno”); Nick Eversman (CW’s “The Tomorrow People”); Roxanne Hart (NBC’s “Medium”); Marion Ross (“Happy Days”); Ron Melendez (NBC’s “Parenthood”) and Madeleine Falk (CBS’ Judging Amy).

Schilling and Risbergs’ next film, LITTLE GIRL, BIG EYES is currently in development.
