Mad Genius Radio Meets Kickstarter Goal Well Ahead of Deadline

MAD GENIUS RADIO, a subscription-based Internet radio service, has reached its KICKSTARTER campaign goal in just over a week, with soliciting through MARCH 26th here.

MAD GENIUS allows listeners to mix genres, create five presets (custom-built channels), rate songs and artists to determine how often they’ll play (or not, with the ban button) and add requests. (http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/139091/mad-genius-radio-meets-kickstarter-goal)

Rather than using listener-derived algorithms to determinie playlists, MAD GENIUS is personalized to the individual user, its unique platform blending together aspects of lean-back and on-demand listening, combining both familiar songs and music discovery.

MAD GENIUS RADIO is also working to change the way artists are compensated by Internet radio services. Subscription services such as MAD GENIUS that do not sell advertising pay 79% more in royalties to performers and copyright holders on a per-song basis than do free, ad-supported services.

“The quick success of our KICKSTARTER campaign only reinforces the fact that people want a better streaming radio experience, and we can offer that to them,” said company founder ERIC NEUMANN. “MAD GENIUS replaces the old system of tired, limited playlists routinely interrupted by commercials with a fully personalized listening experience.”

The capital raised from the KICKSTARTER campaign will help MAD GENIUS RADIO continue to develop features on its web player and mobile apps, as well as give a chance for the service’s existing fans to show their support.
