The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has gathered detailed and extensive statics regarding collisions involving intoxicated drivers.
Phoenix, AZ, January 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - These statics show that certain days of the year, and certain times of day are particularly dangerous in regards to the likelihood of being involved in a collision with an impaired driver.
The NHTSA reports that on average, 36 fatalities occur each day in the United States as a result of a collision involving an intoxicated driver. This daily average rises and falls over the course of the year. It is at its highest during the holiday season, approaching 45 fatalities a day around Christmas and spiking at 54 per day over the New Year’s holiday.
