Dennis J. O'Connell Has Joined the Akooba Team

NEW HIRE- Akooba has announced that Dennis J. O'Connel has joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer. Akooba is a Maryland-based family of early-stage, technology companies that recycle, refurbish, and destroy electronic devices.

Akooba, a Maryland-based family of early-stage, technology companies that recycle, refurbish, and destroy electronic devices, is pleased to announce that Dennis J. O’Connell has joined the Company as its Chief Operating Officer.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Dennis will oversee the operations, marketing, and sales divisions of Akooba in order to enhance the services and capabilities of Akooba products.

Dennis has an extensive background developing businesses from early-stage to one billion dollars in revenue. He has had senior-level operating positions at McCaw Cellular, AT&T Wireless, XO Communications, and Zippy Shell Moving & Storage. Dennis was part of the original McCaw Cellular and XO Communications management teams.

Dennis also was a Partner with a New York venture capital firm, Dolphin Equity Partners, where he was part of the deal team and served as a Director for such successful exits as Enpocket (Nokia); Gomez (Compuware); TeraGo (IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange); and Sixth Sense Media (Evolving Systems).

Dennis is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He also is President of the House Corporation for the Sigma Chi Fraternity Chapter at the University of Maryland.
