New WanderTours Site Combines Popular Women-only and Co-ed Tours as International Travel Grows

WanderTours bring like-minded travelers together on small-group adventures to some of the world's most fascinating regions as the U.S. emerges from a downturn in travel spending.

The fourth quarter 2010 Tripology Trend Report from Rand McNally shows that there's been a steady increase in spending on travel. In response to this noticeable upsurge, Beth Whitman, founder of Wanderlust and Lipstick, the women-focused travel company, has announced the launch of WanderTours. In addition to the well-received women-only tours to India, Bhutan and Vietnam & Cambodia, WanderTours is now offering two new co-ed destinations this year: the Papua New Guinea Mt. Hagen Singsing Cultural Tour as well as a culinary tour to Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition, the co-ed Bhutan Trek will be following a new route through the Laya region of the Himalayas in the fall of 2011.

Each WanderTour is created with an emphasis on rich cultural experiences and opportunities to get to know the local people and their way of life. Tour highlights include memorable experiences such as meditating with a monk in Bhutan, taking a hands-on cooking class in Vietnam, learning how to wrap a sari in India, photographing a private tribal performance in Papua New Guinea and chocolate tasting in Santa Fe. WanderTours programs are hand-tailored to ensure a unique experience for participants that cannot be found elsewhere in mass-marketed tours.

Beth Whitman, founder of WanderTours and Wanderlust and Lipstick, is excited about this new growth at a time when people are increasingly looking for more specialized tours. "While the women-only tour market remains strong, adding co-ed tours is a natural way to reach more travelers. We provide very unique experiences and, while we will continue to specialize in the women's market, we're thrilled to open some of our tours up to men."

WanderTours trips run from 4 to 17 days in length, and participation fees range from $1,250 to $5,750. To explore the WanderTours website and learn more about the tours, please visit http://wandertours.com/
