Lifestyle publication `Round Magazine announced that indie musicians will be featured on a new sampler to be distributed in conjunction with release of the book "`Round Indie Music".
December 2, 2012 (Newswire.com) - A new sampler of indie music will be distributed by `Round Magazine in tandem with their book `Round Indie Music. "All owners of the book will receive a link to download the album" says editor Eric Jones, himself an indie artist. "Since the ebook will be free to all owners of iPad and iPhone, that's a potentially huge audience". The print version of the book will be distributed through MagCloud.
Acts from all musical genres are welcome to submit songs for consideration through the magazine's website, RoundMagazine.net.
`Round Magazine has been a long time promoter on gig-finding site Sonicbids, and regularly provides editorial coverage and music reviews of indie acts. Their most recent listing attracted around 600 bands. "We're proud to maintain a five-star rating on Sonicbids" says Jones. "because we always deliver more than required".
Song submissions to "The `Round Album" are just five dollars each and, unlike many compilation projects, there is no additional 'participation' fee required from artists if they are selected. The compilation will feature around twenty songs culled from the submissions.
Some of the acts previously featured by `Round Magazine include Midnight Empire, The Como Brothers Band, Kristen Faulconer, Macedo, Lisa Brigantino, Gina Sicilia, and Boy with a Fish. Registered users of the `Round Magazine website can download free songs by these reviewed artists.
Besides music, `Round Magazine features art, photography, travel and other lifestyle articles with a particular focus on finding unusual or overlooked artists.
"The `Round Album" will be a promotional download and will not be sold in stores.
