Mr. Carlos Maier Allende is an experienced executive and entrepreneur. Between 1989 and 1998 Mr. Maier was the CEO of Grupo Segundamano, which he steered to leadership on the Spanish free ad paper market. During his tenure the business grew from a free ads title into the country's leading classified media company, spanning a diversified portfolio of real estate and vehicle magazines, recruitment newspapers, university guides and local news titles. Grupo Segundamano is a founding member of the Free Ad Paper International Association (former FAPIA, now ICMA), a hub for classified media worldwide.
Mr. Maier is a founding member of Spain's prestigious Instituto de Empresa (currently ranked the 7th best business school in the world by Financial Times), where he has lectured extensively on Business Strategy. A graduate of Deusto University Law School, he is an M.Sc. in Economics (ICADE) and MBA (IESE). He is fluent in Spanish, German and English and serves on the Board of Spanish fashion-house Hoss Intropia. He is based in Madrid, Spain.
Mr. Hakan Hanlı has been an Attorney-at-law (senior partner) in various international & European law firms in Brussels (1994-2004) and recently in Turkey's Pekin & Pekin (2004-2007) and Çağa & Çağa (2007-Present). His practice spans the areas of International, European and Turkish Commerce & Competition, Banking & Finance, Privatization, Telecommunication, ICT, Energy, IPR, Foreign Investment, Project Finance, Arbitration, Media & Entertainment. His Commerce & Competition and Media & Entertainment expertise (including a number of major acquisitions) has been developed over various geographies, including projects within the EU, Turkey, Russia, CIS and CEE.
Mr. Hanlı is a graduate of Ankara University Law School and the Universite Catholique de Leuven Law School (LL.B, LL.M). He holds a Ph.D from the Free Brussels University Law School. A member of the Ankara and Brussels Bars, Mr. Hanlı is fluent in English, Turkish and French and has a working knowledge of Dutch. He is based in Istanbul, Turkey.
