Nemucore Medical Innovations, Inc. and Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives Partner to Develop Biomedical Research Space

NMI and MBI have partnered to develop and equip a biomedical research lab in Worcester, MA.

Nemucore Medical Innovations, Inc. (NMI) has partnered with Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives (MBI) to develop biomedical research space at 55 Union Street Worcester, MA. NMI leased 22,000 square feet located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building, subleasing part of the 1st floor to MBI to provide high quality, affordable, and turnkey research space for innovative startup companies.

Working together NMI and MBI renovated the 1st floor space and brought in shared equipment for common use by all tenants. Additionally, MBI will provide key incubator services, including safety training, security, facilities management, and assistance with permitting, for tenant companies. This partnership forms a vibrant new core for increasing biotechnology research and biomanufacturing job opportunities in downtown Worcester.

"Our partnership with Kevin O'Sullivan and the other members of the MBI team has been great," said NMI CEO and President Tim Coleman. "Pulling off this development alone would have been difficult, but with the cooperation and help of the MBI team we were operational in five months. I am tremendously happy with our progress and look forward to a long relationship with MBI."

Kevin O'Sullivan, MBI President, said, "The collaboration established between MBI and NMI is truly a national model in terms of creating both economic vibrancy, by way of company and job creation, as well as enhancing NMI's unique scientific and healthcare innovation. We look forward to building upon this successful relationship by continuing to grow our regional biomedical cluster together."
