He received his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law and his B.A. in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University.

With his vast experience working with companies from start-up to acquisition, Skalny is poised to help MBRG achieve its goal of making Maryland a great place to do business.

Skalny has served on the boards of multiple organizations, including Howard County General Hospital, Howard County Arts Council, Maryland Chamber of Commerce, SACBEP (Superintendent's Advisory Council for Business-Education Partnerships), Jim Rouse Entrepreneurial Fund, and Howard County Tourism. He has chaired the boards of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Howard County, the Howard Hospital Foundation, and the Superintendent's Advisory Council on Business-Education Partnerships. He frequently lectures on business law matters to civic groups and schools, in addition to writing informative columns for local business publications.

Skalny serves the community as passionately as he serves Maryland business and civic groups. He is a former Director and Chairman of the American Heart Association - Howard County Division, and he participates in the American Heart Association Heart Walk & American Cancer Society Race for the Cure.

"I've had the pleasure of working with Paul on the boards of multiple non-profit, community-centered organizations," says Duane Carey, MBRG President. "He speaks his mind, rolls up his sleeves to get to work, and is a passionate advocate for business owners and their unique challenges. We're fortunate that he will contribute his talents and energy to MBRG."
