Make Some Noise! Fall Artists Jenny King, Chelsie Neiman, Donna Thomas, Philip Myrick,Jason Moore

The Fall season starts up in September with some diverse and rich colors of some local artists. Jenny King, Donna Thomas, Chelsie Neiman and Jason Moore various backgrounds with some wonderful results. Sept 11 fr 2-4PM event is free.

In the Forum- Jenny King - Painter - Jenny is one of those artists whose work explodes off the canvas with her color and imagery. The musical instruments are still resonating from their last chords. Her reds and oranges are powerful the textures are splattered about. Her high energy is evident throughout each image. This will be a great and vibrant way to kick off the season.

In the Encore Room-
Donna Thomas - Painter - Donna brings poetry to the Defoor with her washes and paintings they are quiet filled with emotion. Her use of the strong horse and the delicate lines and shadows run deep. Her traditional work will also be there. Wonderful use of color, compositions and delicate use of brush for a poetic sound to her images will stir you within.

In the Lobby-
Chelsie Neiman - Painter-
She calls this series White Noise - images with a lot of thick applied paint. Her layers creates an onion effect, on canvas work there is an intriguing combination of surrealism, abstraction and photo-realism. She creates atmospheres that are full of whimsy and portent. White Noise, Neiman hopes to express the
beauty of simplicity, with striking contrasts of vivid saturated color.

In the Gatsby Room-
Philip Myrick -Painter-
Philip is from Marietta, Georgia and from an early age, he had a deep love of art. He grew up in the same city, graduating from Walton High School in 2001. He then went off to Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue a degree in fine arts. He attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 2007. He has been very active in the art scene ever since.

In the Bar and Cafe-
Jason Moore - Mixed Media-
The emerging works that are graffiti in nature but he's transformed them to be a potential gallery favorite. His main medium is marker and acrylic to help him think out side the box. The definitive marker lines serve as border to try to contain the paint or does it?

About the Defoor Centre-
The Defoor Centre is located off Howell Mill Rd in Atlanta in the reviving Westside neighborhood, where a lot of local vendors that cater to the interior designers have been going to for years. The Centre has been a growing facility hosting major fundraisers to corporate meetings to private weddings all in house catering with a full bar. 100 years ago this place was a hospital for the soldiers fighting at the Battle of Peachtree Creek and to this day they are "still there."
