In order to be certified, used Honda cars must pass a series of tests and guidelines. Firstly, the used car must be less than six years old and have no more than 80,000 miles on it. Qualifying used cars must then go through a 150-point mechanical and appearance inspection performed by Honda-trained technicians at the dealership. They examine the brakes, engine, drivetrain, suspension, steering, tires, wheels, exhaust, and the interior and exterior condition.

If the technicians find that any part or component of the vehicle is not up to standard, it will be replaced with a Genuine Honda part or reconditioned. Finally, the car receives any needed scheduled maintenance services. Only then will the Honda used car officially be certified.

To ensure potential customers of the Certified Used Car's condition, Bob Montgomery Honda will run a CARFAX Vehicle History Report for each certified car. A copy of this report will be available for any buyer to see.

Each Certified Used Honda will receive additional coverage on the car's original Powertrain Limited Warranty, extending it to seven-years / 100,000-miles from the vehicle's original in-service date. Honda also extends the car's original non-powertrain Limited Warranty from three-years / 36,000-miles to four-years / 48,000-miles. The steering, suspension, electrical systems, air conditioning, heating and cooling, fuel system, switches, audio repairs, and sensors are all included in this warranty.

If the used Honda's original Non-Powertrain Limited Warranty has already expired, Bob Montgomery Honda will offer one-year / 12,000-miles of coverage from the time the car is purchased.
