KBE Building Corporation Selected to Build Naval Facility
KBE Building Corporation (KBE) has been selected to build a commissary for the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, CT.
Online, July 30, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Columbia, MD and Farmington, Conn. - KBE Building Corporation (KBE) (www.kbebuilding.com) has been selected to build a commissary for the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, CT.
The $14.5 million project will consist of a 57,000 square foot commissary that will include a general sales area, electronic checkout registers, a receiving area, a loading dock, meat and produce preparation areas, cold and freeze storage, and other supporting areas. The commissary will be constructed in adherence to current energy conservation policies, standards, and regulations.
KBE was awarded this project by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), the financier and administrator of the construction.
The 55-year old firm is building an increasing presence within the federal government and military contracting community. It is currently renovating a Federal Aviation Administration facility in New York, and its recent $54 million Armed Forces Reserve Center project in Middletown, CT won several prestigious industry awards, as well as accolades from the client.
