Justice Is Mind: Evidence to Screen at Balticon 46 Science Fiction Convention

The North American science fiction circuit premiere of Evidence on May 25 in Hunt Valley, MD will mark the short film's fifth screening.

Mark Lund, Executive Producer, is pleased to announce that Justice Is Mind: Evidence will have its fifth screening at Balticon 46 in Hunt Valley, MD on May 25. Presented by the Baltimore Science Fiction Society, Balticon is one of the largest science fiction and fantasy conventions in the United States. Justice Is Mind: Evidence will kick off the Balticon Friday Film Premiere with a 9 PM start time and will be hosted by Lund and Vernon Aldershoff who plays Henri Miller in the short film.

"I am delighted to have Justice Is Mind: Evidence screen at Balticon," said Lund who directed Evidence. "Balticon has been wonderfully supportive of my films. Exactly five years ago to the day, Balticon was the first to screen my short film First World. For filmmakers that produce in these genres, conventions like Balticon are excellent venues which reach a target audience of enthusiasts."

In addition to introducing Justice Is Mind: Evidence to audiences, both Lund and Aldershoff will answer questions about the project after the short film screens. Lund will also be a featured speaker and moderator throughout the weekend. Prior to the screening of Evidence on Friday, Lund will be reading from some of his works. On Saturday, Lund will be part of panels on self-publishing, casting calls, screenwriting and directing, low budget filmmaking and crowdfunding film projects, hi tech vs low tech production as well as an autograph session.

Written by Lund, in Justice Is Mind MRI technology has advanced to a point where imaging of long term memories can be produced in near video quality. When local businessman and restaurant owner Henri Miller has the new FVMRI scans and it reveals him murdering two contractors on his property, the first Superior Court trial begins in which a defendant's own memory can be introduced as evidence.

Evidence begins in the chambers of Judge Richard Wagner when motions are presented by Henri's defense counsel in a desperate attempt to suppress the key memory evidence of the alleged double murder. The story continues at the Miller residence with Henri growing more unstable and his journalist wife, Margaret, attempting to bring some normalcy to their situation-a futile attempt when the news of Henri's fate is broadcast to the world.

Justice Is Mind: Evidence has secured distribution from IndieFlix. A distributor of over 2,500 independent films, this is the second film of Lund's that IndieFlix has picked up, the first being the 2007 sci-fi production of First World. Evidence's release date through IndieFlix will be announced separately. In June, Justice Is Mind: Evidence will be released on DVD through Amazon.

The short film version Evidence was produced to introduce the concept of Justice Is Mind and to act as a capital raise vehicle to produce the feature length version project. After the screening of Justice Is Mind: Evidence at Balticon, Lund will be making a special announcement regarding the feature film version of Justice Is Mind.

Justice Is Mind: Evidence stars Vernon Aldershoff (Henri Miller), Alexander Cook (John Darrow), Maria Natapov (Constance Smith), John Depew (Judge Wagner), Robin Rapoport (Margaret Miller) and Toula Coin (News Reporter). The film also introduces Joshua Hey (Brian Miller) and Kim Merriam (Court Stenographer).

Justice Is Mind: Evidence will screen on May 25, 2012 at 9 PM at the Baltimore Marriott Hunt Valley Inn.
