InventHelp, based in Pittsburgh, is working to submit the Pot Toter to applicable companies in the hopes of a good faith review.
March 22, 2014 (Newswire.com) - InventHelp, a leading inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Iowa, has designed a device that could allow a user to carry two to six plastic nursery pots in each hand in order to transport them quickly and easily. This invention is patented and a prototype is available.
The "Pot Toter" could provide a convenient way to carry up to six plastic nursery pots in each hand. The invention could help to save time and labor, and multiple Pot Toters could be used simultaneously. Helping to promote efficiency, the invention would be easy to use. Ideal for use at nurseries and garden centers, the Pot Toter clamps could be manufactured inexpensively to have multiple clamps available for use at all locations.
The toters could be made from metal or plastic, and would feature a horizontal handle with three attached spring-loaded clamps. Three slots would be located at the center and each end of the handle, with the clamps bolted into each slot, and each clamp would include a vertical rod that runs through a tension spring to the top of the clamp. To use, an individual aligns two to six pots side by side, then attaches the clamps to the adjacent rims by depressing the spring with two fingers. This depression would cause the clamp's wings to open. Once the clamps are around the rims, the user can release the spring and lifts the handle to carry each set of pots easily.
"I had to unload a truckload of about five thousand nursery pots, and the trips back and forth became tedious," said the inventor. "What is needed, I thought, is an easy way to carry up to 12 pots at a time."
InventHelp is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor.
