Green Earth Landscaping launches Project Green Earth, a new HOA recycling program to benefit Union County Habitat for Humanity.
May 17, 2013 (Newswire) - Monroe, North Carolina's Green Earth Landscaping, Inc. wants to turn recyclable trash into cash, enabling Union County's Habitat for Humanity to build more houses, so the Indian Trail-based firm has launched Project Green Earth.
"Home owners associations (HOA's) are Green Earth Landscaping, Inc.'s primary customers. I noticed that several HOA's were producing a lot of recyclable trash around their pools, clubhouses and common areas," says Edward Dubisz, owner of Green Earth Landscaping Inc. "I thought a recycling program would be a great, no-additional-charge service I could offer to our customers. We're on site every week to maintain the properties so it is convenient for us to pick up the recyclables."
When Dubisz learned that Union County Habitat for Humanity was already working with Waste Pro to raise funds with its recyclables, he called Mike Reece, Executive Director of Union County Habitat for Humanity, to see if Project Green Earth could help.
Green Earth Landscaping Inc., which is initiating the project with its customers, already has bins in place in two local neighborhoods. Dubisz says he hopes to expand Project Green Earth into other communities, parks and recreational facilities, as well as schools and corporate business offices. Typically, one ton of mixed recyclables will generate $125 for Habitat.
Green Earth Landscaping, Inc. serves the landscaping needs of HOA's, multi-family communities, commercial and industrial properties, as well as retirement communities throughout Mecklenburg and Union counties. The Indian Trail, NC-based firm offers the personalized service of a small company and the on-staff horticultural expertise and capabilities typically found only in national landscaping firms.
