March 25, 2014 (Newswire) - Today marks the beginning of a new exciting chapter in our history, the launch of Garifuna Music Download website, GariMP3.com.
GariMP3.com open up its digital doors with over 50 downloadable songs and have secured contracts to over 300 songs, which will become part of the GariMP3 platform in the upcoming days. Well known Artists from Belize and Honduras were included in the initial launch and there are plans to add Artists from Guatemala. After months of planning and development it became very clear that the launch would not be complete without the inclusion of popular Artists such as Aziatic, Lova Boy, DRRD, Menor Menor and Gatote. Each of these Artists bring a unique set of memorable and impressive talent to showcase to the world: Aziatic's Jam 96X album, Lova Boy's Victorious album, DRRD's Las Luces Se Apagan single, Menor Menor's Inevitable single and Gatote's Cada Dia single.

Who are the Garinagu (plural of Garifuna)
The Garinagu are descendants of Carib, Arawak and West African people who live in the coastal regions of Central America: Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Since they refused to submit to slavery, the Garifuna managed to preserve both their African roots and their Amerindian heritage, a fusion resulting in a unique ethnicity considered indigenous to the Americas. In 2001, UNESCO proclaimed the language, dance and music of the Garifuna as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
