EventMecca.com Event Planning Site Launches for All Events in the Capital Region

New Business Partners with Times Union Center to Present All Events Show This Fall

Finding local vendors for parties and special events in the Capital Region has gotten easier and quicker with the launch of EventMecca.com, a new online event planning site devoted exclusively to the region.

Now live at www.eventmecca.com, the site features enhanced directory listings, a searchable database with hundreds of vendors in more than 30 categories, on-demand event planning services, a budget calculator, and other helpful tools to plan weddings, children's parties, graduations, private parties and more.

A one-stop event planning portal, EventMecca.com allows anyone planning an event to find and connect with vendors, compare costs in a wide range of categories, get competitive bids and check availability.

Local musician Vincent DiMoro of Albany started the new venture after having difficulty himself finding vendors of products and services in the Capital Region.

"The idea for EventMecca.com was born from the lack of information of localized special events vendors," he says. "If you were throwing a party or getting married in a major metropolitan area like Boston or New York, it is easy to get connected with professionals, but it isn't in the Capital Region. National event planning websites largely ignore this and other mid- and smaller-size markets."

Among the features of EventMecca.com are:

• Advanced vendor search: With EventMecca.com's multi-search feature, users can easily search for vendors by both county and categories to find the ideal vendor in the locations they desire. The interactive Google map feature identifies vendors with markers on a map so users can quickly see their address and neighborhood. By clicking on these markers, users can view custom vendor profiles and some Google Earth photos of businesses.

• On-Demand services: The premium "Event Planner on Demand" and "Event on Demand" services open up party bidding to a network of qualified vendors. By filling out a form to request a bid, clients will receive competitive pricing from multiple resources to choose from in a quick turnaround time.

• Budget calculator: This online tool allows the user to add line expenses for items as they hire vendors that are automatically deducted from the total budget to keep track of overall costs for the event. The budget also can be downloaded and printed.

EventMecca.com Site Offers Benefits for Users and Vendors

"EventMecca.com helps local people planning parties save time and money by bringing all the research together in one easy-to-navigate and easy-to-search Web site," he says. "By using this new service anyone planning a wedding or other event can learn about different venue alternatives, discover new vendors and get ideas to create a unique customized event."

The site also is a new marketing tool for local vendors of all sizes and in multiple categories to use to help promote their party and event services. By listing as a member, vendors receive current hot leads from local planners versus national sites that charge larger fees for leads that can be stale and not from the area.

DiMoro has launched the business with a core team and expects to expand the sales force in the coming year. Employees are involved in local non-profit organizations and the Albany Chamber of Commerce.

EventMecca.com is a proud sponsor of "Making Strides in 2013," the American Cancer Society's Breast Cancer walk in Albany on Oct. 20 and is partnering with the Times Union Center to present a new all events show focusing on weddings, plus all other special events, Oct. 27, at the Times Union Center in Albany, from 12 to 4 p.m.
