Call of the Wild Nominated for 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year
Call of the Wild Adventures, Inc. has been honored with a nomination for the 2014 Bend Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Online, April 15, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Call of the Wild Adventures, Inc. ("COTWA") has been honored with a nomination for the 2014 Bend Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Owner, Emilie Cortes, expressed her gratitude after learning about the nomination, "I'm really quite pleasantly shocked and honored by the nomination. While I have an extensive large business background, this is only my second year at the helm of Call of the Wild Adventures. We have made significant improvements in the operations of the business while respecting all the aspects of the trips that the clients hold sacred - fostering of a strong community, awesome food, strong female leadership, and a safe yet adventurous experience. It's delightful to be recognized so quickly for the work we have done and our philosophy of giving back to the community."
As an example of community involvement, Call of the Wild is an official partner of Smith Rock State Park having adopted the new native desert garden installation in 2013 and Emilie personally mobilizes volunteers for monthly work parties.

While the competition for the award is stiff, Emilie states, "It really doesn't matter to me if we win the award or not. It already feels like such achievement to be welcomed with open arms into the vibrant entrepreneurial community in Bend. I know I made the right decision about where to relocate the business when I took over the company in November 2012. Winning the award would really be over the top for us, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!"
