About Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is the natural function of the lymphatic system, which is an essential part of immunity. The lymphatic system can be damaged through trauma, injury or surgery. It can also be chronically damaged over time due to poor circulation and scar tissue.
If this function isn't working properly, it can cause a build-up of fluid in tissues causing a back flow of fluid in the system and cause uncomfortable swelling. One type of treatment for your lymphatic system is a type of therapeutic massage called Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) to help this system work and to treat some of the conditions associated with the lymphatic system. The massage used to stimulate this system is feather soft and very slow, much like the feel of water on the skin.
A lymphatic drainage massage is incredibly useful for post surgical swelling, people who have had lymph node removal or damage, chronic lymph conditions and to increase immune system health.
