Balentine has released its 2014 Capital Markets Forecast, a comprehensive collection of the firm's best thinking and its signature investment research piece for the new year. The 2014 Forecast shares Balentine's full cycle, seven-year forecast for over 30 asset classes, as they are situated in the firm's building block framework. This marks the thirteenth year that Balentine, an Atlanta-based employee-owned investment advisory firm, has published this annual long-term forecast. Founded in 2009, Balentine currently has 23 employees and more than $1.5 billion in assets under advisement.

Each year, Balentine's Investment Strategy Team uses its updated projections to restructure its strategic asset allocation targets in key areas to maximize the efficiency of its strategies and better meet its clients' objectives over the next market cycle. The Capital Markets Forecast addresses what Balentine's Investment Strategy Team sees as some of the most critical issues impacting investors today and closely informs portfolio construction decisions.

"It is our experience that investors can get caught up in the short-term movements of the financial markets, and it can be difficult to separate what is important from what is arguably a significant amount of noise," says Russ Allen, CFA, Balentine's Director of Investment Research. "The purpose of our Capital Markets Forecast is to reevaluate the starting point for investors, with the ultimate goal of meeting our clients' needs while taking the least amount of risk necessary to meet those goals."

The document includes Market Insights research pieces which focus on current issues impacting investors, such as demographic trends, the impact of government debt and the current debate surrounding market valuation. The Capital Markets Forecast also takes a deeper look into our views on what is impacting each building block and shares our forecast on each for the next market cycle, defined as seven years.
