A.M.A.A.P.A.'S MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of The Atlanta Music Association & Academy for Performing Arts is to support and preserve Atlanta's musical culture, to recognize and show appreciation for the artistic efforts and accomplishments of Atl

The newly formed organization A.M.A.A.P.A., which is an acronym for The Atlanta Music Association & Academy for Performing Arts was founded by industry insider and music lover, Shanta Lana Hereford and her "Extreme Team" in December 2013 to serve as a hub for all Atlanta music artists. For years Atlanta has dominated the music industry with acts and legends that have exposed the world to Atlanta's southern culture and unique sound; forcing record labels, aspiring artists, music executives and more to relocate and make Atlanta the "Melting Pot of Music" it is today.

A.M.A.A.P.A. was formed in an effort to bring awareness to the diverse genres and unify the various music cultures of Atlanta, to create enrichment opportunities for its members and establish channels that allow them to work together more efficiently and effectively. It is the goal of A.M.A.A.P.A. to provide its members and the community of Atlanta with social and artistic programs and services that will have a direct impact on those we serve and create a greater appreciation for Atlanta artists and their contributions to the community as a whole. An example of those programs would be the free to low-cost dance, vocal, instrumentation, acting classes and more offered to talented youth with financial hardships that the organization intends to offer. An example of the social services would be "The Starving Artist" Program aimed at providing financial assistance to industry professionals who are experiencing documented hardships with rental/mortgage payments, prescriptions, utility assistance, etc.

Since launching, A.M.A.A.P.A. already has 100 members and counting and has plans for an annual awards ceremony titled "The Atlanta Music Awards that members are currently developing. A.M.A.A.P.A. has several membership options including FREE and is available to music fans, amatuer and professional artists, businesses and more.
