"A Hope Revealed" by Karen Baney Receives QED Seal From Digital Book World

Karen Baney, author of the best-selling "Prescott Pioneers" book series was awarded the QED seal from Digital Book World for quality in excellence and design for book #4 in the series, "A Hope Revealed."

Best-selling author, Karen Baney makes her home in the great state of Arizona that also doubles as the setting for her historical fiction novels. The Prescott Pioneers series offers a taste of the joy, hardship, and sorrow that pioneers experienced in the 1860's. From traveling via wagon train to milling around town, it's said that Ms. Baney paints a vivid picture that makes her books come alive for the readers.

The fourth book in the series was recently awarded the QED seal from Digital Book World. An award known as the "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approvalâ„¢" for eBooks and is part of the Publishing Innovation Awards. The QED advisory council judges eBooks on their readability and versatility on multiple eReader devices using a 13-point checklist and is made up of a panel of professionals from the digital publishing industry.

The QED seal is backed by most of the major eBook publishing companies; including Sony, Kobo, and Nook among others. The directors of these companies acknowledge the need for quality eBooks as the publishing world is rapidly evolving and it is becoming easier for authors to make their content digitally available. Many of the directors have endorsed the QED seal on Digital Book Worlds website, here's what one of them had to say:

"With the growth of digital books and devices the publishing industry is witnessing an evolution in the truest sense of the word. We have finally reached a tipping point for digital reading that should be embraced as a renaissance in publishing. The Publishing Innovation Awards celebrates and honors excellence and innovation in e-books." - Christian Smythe, Director of Sony Digital Reader Business Division

"A Hope Revealed" was awarded the seal for quality in excellence and design - a seal received by less than 100 books during 2012, placing it on a list with multiple publications from top publishing houses. The Prescott Pioneers series as a whole had over 200,000 eBook downloads in 2012 alone, and is also available in paperback.

Author, Karen Baney, has also written a contemporary novel and a marketing book and she works full time as a software engineer. When she does get time off, she says that she can be found touring the state with her husband exploring museums and enjoying the landscape.
