2nd Annual Mobile Engagement Forum Held May 15-16 in Chicago

Mobile Apps, Social Media, Tablet Technology Among Conference Discussion Topics

Digital marketing professionals from the life science industry gathered in Chicago, Illinois for the 2nd Annual Mobile Engagement Forum to learn about the best practices for mobile use in the healthcare space. The conference was held May 15-16 at the Courtyard Marriott.

Participants took part in interactive discussions, networking opportunities, and breakout sessions to share valuable insight to a plethora of mobile marketing topics, including EHR integration, digital content strategy, and the rising popularity of mobile device use. Speakers from a variety of companies such as Merck, Eisai, Daiichi Sankyo, Manhattan Research and Beckman Coulter conducted presentations and panel discussions.

In a special panel discussion, attendees heard from patients and patient advocacy professionals representing the American Liver Foundation and the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association. The panel discussed their perspectives on mobile engagement, how they hoped mobile technology would be implemented in the future of healthcare and how mobile marketing strategies could be utilized to better connect with healthcare professionals. Another panel, comprised solely of healthcare professionals from four of Chicago's leading hospitals, shared firsthand perspective from physicians when developing a mobile marketing strategy. The panel discussed how they utilize mobile technologies and what content physicians find valuable on a day-to-day basis, so that digital marketers can effectively create mobile applications with the user in mind. These well-received panel presentations offered attendees a platform for interactive dialogue and enthusiastic idea-sharing.

More than two dozen healthcare professionals, patients, and mobile engagement experts conducted presentations and sessions throughout the two-day conference. Distinguished presenters included Grady Davis of Medtronic, Austin Wilson of Merck, and Alvin Lin of Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
