2 Members Of Mellon Group Of Companies Among The Fastest Growing Companies Of Europe

The Outstanding Employment and Business Growth of Mellon Romania and Mellon Poland Earned the Two Companies a Place in the 2010 Europe's 500 List

Mellon Romania and Mellon Poland, members of Mellon Group of Companies, were recognized for their drive, innovation and successful entrepreneurship in 2010 Europe's 500, the annual list which selects the 500 most dynamic companies in Europe. The award certificates were presented by former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, during the awards ceremony that was held on February 3rd, at the European Parliament in Brussels to honour the top growth companies and to release Europe's 500's ranking.

Mellon Poland and Mellon Romania were ranked 99th and 133rd respectively among 500 European companies and were the only companies from Poland and Romania to be included in the list. Overall, there were more than 2,700 companies from over 30 European countries whose data were analyzed and verified by Dun & Bradstreet, one of the biggest sources of commercial information and insight on businesses globally, in order to create the list of the top growth companies in Europe.

More specifically, for the period under consideration (2007-2009), Mellon Poland more than doubled its turnover while increasing its number of employees by 50%. For the same period, Mellon Romania registered a 45% increase in its turnover and more than 200% increase in its number of employees. In 2010 both companies continued their brisk pace of growth.

Altogether, the top 200 companies in the list, created almost 28,581 new jobs between 2007 and 2009, bringing their total employment to 175,671 in December 2009 and a total turnover of 37.566 billion Euros. These companies grew on average by 71 employees per year and employ on average 878 employees. The average turnover per company was 190 million Euros. Juan Roure, co-founder of Europe's 500: "These are exceptional achievements considering that there was a negative growth of approximately 5 % in Europe in 2009."
